Altrude Daniels

Altrude Grace Daniels, the daughter of Edward and Alma (Jobe) Kluver died January 23, 2021 at the Knute Nelson Care Center in Alexandria, MN at the age of 93 years.

Altrude was born on October 21, 1927 in Hudson Township, Douglas County, MN.  She grew up on the family farm near Forada, MN and graduated from high school in 1945 in Alexandria, MN.  Altrude married Nat Daniels of Villard, MN on June 29, 1945 in Seva Lutheran Church in Alexandria, MN.  They lived in Tulelake, CA for several years before returning to Forada, MN where they purchased a farm.  Later in the ‘60’s, they purchased and operated the Corral Supper Club in Nelson, MN and after that, they again purchased a farm but this time near Battle Point on Lake Osakis.  After retiring, their winters were spent in Texas or Arizona and their summers back at their home in Osakis.

Altrude enjoyed cooking and gardening.  She especially enjoyed meeting with the ladies that belonged to her Circle from the Osakis Lutheran Church.  She will be remembered by her family for her great love for them, by always living close-by and for the cherished memories made from her hosting of many Sunday breakfasts and dinners over the years.

Altrude is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Nancy Daniels of Osakis; 2 grandchildren, Cindy (Larry) Fontaine of Casselton, ND and Jesse (Laura) Daniels of Mankato, MN; four great grandchildren, Danielle and Natalie Fontaine, Liam and Jem Daniels.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Nat (in 2004); a brother, Wallace Kluver and sisters, Luletta Maloney and Mildred Schroeder.

Private family services will be held with Rev. Rich Fitzer officiating.  Burial will be next to her husband, Nat Daniels at Hudson Cemetery in Forada, MN.
