LIFE HISTORY for ANGIE DUNN
Angeline Dunn, age 92 of Osakis entered the peace of Heaven on Friday morning, March 13, 2009 from the Community Memorial Home in Osakis, MN.
Angeline "Angie" Ritter was born on January 25, 1917 in Leslie Township, Todd Co, MN to Adam and Elizabeth (Housen) Ritter. She attended country school and on June 29, 1937 she was united in holy matrimony to Thomas J. Dunn in Osakis, MN. They farmed for many years and Angie also worked for the Finger Hut Company in Sauk Centre. She worked for a couple of years in the laundry dept at the Memorial Home and then took a job working with the disabled in an area R.E.M. home. A few years after Tom's death in '86, Angie moved into the Manor Apartments in Osakis.
Angie was a member of the Immaculate Conception parish and belonged to the Christian Mothers and the Daughters of Isabella. She also volunteered her time helping out at St. Agnes School and the Community Memorial Home. Angie had many hobbies, but her favorite was playing cards. She belonged to several card groups and kept busy playing cards almost every day of the week. From Bridge to Poker, she could play all types of games, but her favorite was probably Whist. Other things she enjoyed was going dancing, bowling, fishing or traveling. She was an avid baseball fan and kept busy while watching the game crocheting or knitting a project to share with friends or family. Angie was a wonderful cook and famous for her chocolate chip and molasses cookies. She was a kind and caring mother, grandma and sister who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Eleanor (Robert) Zimmel of Pipe Creek, TX, Michael (Dorothy) Dunn of Alexandria, Sandra (Dale) Waldvogel of Osakis, Patrick (Marlene) Dunn of Nelson, Daniel (Lynda) Dunn of Champlain, Dick (Paulette) Dunn of Osakis; 18 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 5 stepgrandchildren; 10 great stepgrandchildren; 1 great, great stepgrandson; two sisters, Lorraine Quigley of Woodbury and Patricia (Rolla) Bryant of Ocala, FL; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Angie is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Tom in 1986, a son, James Dunn, a brother, Andrew Ritter and 4 sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Thielen, Elsie Simons, Sally Radford and Dorothy Ritter.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Monday, March 16 at 10:30 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis with Fr. Fred Fink officiating. Interment is at the Calvary Cemetery in Osakis with pallbearers by her grandsons, Alan Zimmel, Greg Faber, Mark Ratajesak, Merle, Mark, Levi, Keith, Robbie and Rory Dunn amd Curtis Waldvogel. Honorary pallbearers were her granddaughters, Kathy Judd, Marcia Garvin, Brenda Thomas, Michelle Phoenix, Beth Housen, Cindy Goldade, Julie Patton, Kris Wagner, Holly and Jenna Dunn.
