Life History for Barbara Hansen
Barbara Hansen, age 63 of Osakis, MN passed away at her home on Friday, September 9, 2011, surrounded by her loved ones.
Barbara Jean Treiber was born on February 23, 1948 in Battle Creek, Iowa to Maurice and Jennie (Wanda) Treiber. She was raised in Sioux City, Iowa and graduated high school in 1966. After high school, Barb moved to the Twin Cities. She has lived there until she permanently moved to Osakis a few years ago. Barb met Jim Hansen in August of 1986 and she married him on November 29, 1986 in St. Paul, MN. Throughout her working career, she had worked at many different car dealerships with her last employment at KIA of St. Cloud, until her health brought her to retirement.
Barb was happy living at their home on Little Lake Osakis and doing as much fishing and gardening as time allowed. Dancing was also another pastime that she and Jim enjoyed doing. Barb was a very thoughtful and caring wife, mother, daughter, grandma and friend, who always had the concern for others as her top priority. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Hansen of Osakis, MN; a daughter, Jennifer (Cory) Churchill of Coon Rapids, MN and three grandchildren, Calvin, Pamela and Nyah; her mother, Jennie Treiber of Osakis, MN; three sisters, Margaret (Jim) Cunningham of Sergeant Bluff, IA, Teresa (Rick Wagner) Treiber of Circle Pines, MN and Janet (Ted Harvey) Treiber of Blaine, MN.
Preceding her in death is her father, Maurice Treiber and her sister, Janice Treiber.
A Celebration of Life was held for Barbara on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at the Leslie Community Church in Osakis. The officiant was Rev. Larry Pearson.
