Carol Reinke

Carol Agnes Manley was born on December 21, 1944 in Murdock, MN to James and Mary (Commerford) Manley, Sr. She graduated from Murdock High School in 1962 and went to work for a bank in Minneapolis. She met and married William Salyards in 1967 and traveled throughout the southern United States when he was in the merchant marines. She worked in New Orleans, Houston, TX and California before returning to Murdock in 1972. On January 18, 1975, Carol was married to Loren Reinke at Sacred Heart Church in Murdock. They farmed near Appleton and then moved to a farm by Eagle Bend. They bought a farm near Villard in 1983 and have lived there ever since. In addition to raising her family, Carol also worked at several area homes for the handicapped. She was employed by REM of Osakis and later worked for the Alexandria PCS and DAC. She had a special gift of kindness and patience that endeared her to those with whom she worked. Carol had many hobbies and interests. She was an avid Vikings fan and also liked to work on crossword puzzles and computer games. She loved animals and had many pets over the years. She was a loving grandma who liked to spend time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Loren Reinke of Villard; her children, Troy Reinke of Sauk Centre, Judy Reinke of Osakis, James (Jessie) Reinke of Sauk Centre, Susan Pahan of Villard, Keith (Angie) Reinke of Alexandria, Tess Swanson of Brooklyn Park; 11 grandchildren, Devin Hill, Morrigan Reinke, Toshia, Dalton, Tyus & Milton Reinke, Kaileigh & Mallory Pahan, Carter Reinke, Edward & Nicole Swanson.; father, James Manley, Sr.; her siblings, James (Vicki) Manley, Jr. of Alexandria, John (Judy) Manley of Pensicola, FL, Kathy (James) McGuire of Martinsville, ID, Pat (Alfred) Ahrends of Eagan, Judy (Jim) Robinson of Coon Rapids, Donna Ray of Brainerd, Jean (Brad) Ellingson of St. Michael, Lois (Rick) Skaalrud of Hammon, WI and Rita (Chuck) Stellmach of Murdock, MN; brother-in-law, Herb Johnson;many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Arlene Manley and her sister, Marlene Johnson.
A Mass of Resurrection was held on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2006 at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis with Fr. Dick McGuire officiating. Musicians were the church organ choir, with special music by James Manley, Jr. Interment was at the West Evergreen Cemetery in Osakis. Honorary pallbearers were Carol's grandchildren and active bearers were Dave Vogt, Mike Heiser, David Eblen, Greg Baughn, Bill Pahan and Leon Daniels, Sr.
Arrangements were handled by the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home, Osakis, MN.
