Carol Schultz, age 82 of Alexandria, left her earthly home on Friday, April 18, 2007 at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria, MN.
Carol Margie Johnson was born on October 10, 1925 in West Union Township to Ole and Freda (Johnson) Johnson. After schooling and a year doing factory work during WWII, Carol was united in marriage to Frederick Schultz at the Sauk Valley Lutheran Church in rural Osakis. They raised two daughters and lived in Minneapolis. Carol worked for 18 years with Home Brand foods as a finishing cook, working with jellies and preserves. Upon retirement, the Schultz's moved to a home in Alexandria in 1989.
Carol kept in close contact with her family and friends in Osakis and was a member of the Sauk Valley church and belonged to the ladies aide.
Some of her hobbies and interests included traveling, going fishing and tending her flower garden. They also enjoyed socializing and attending area dances.
Carol is survived by her husband of 63 years, Fred Schultz of Alexandria; two daughters, LuAnn Schultz of Rochester and Julie (John) Ingleman of Lakeshore, MN; 4 grandsons, Christian (Ann) Hennebeck and Andrew Hennebeck, Brady (Debra)Ingleman and Kyle Ingleman; 4 great grandchildren, Rhiannon and Samantha Hennebeck, Jack and Ryan Ingleman.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Marla Kaye Hennebeck and a brother, Leon Johnson.
Funeral services for Carol were held on Monday, April 21 at 1:00 pm at the Sauk Valley Lutheran Church in Osakis with Rev. Allan Bjorklund officiating. Musicians are organist, Ione Johnson and soloists are Rev. Bjorklund and Ray Mikkelson. Interment is at the church cemetery. Honorary casketbearers are the Sauk Valley Ladies Aid, Pastor Dick and Jayne Hamlin, St. Timothy's Lutheran Church of Fridley.
Active casketbearers are by her grandchildren and Aunt, Shirley Gillan.
A lunch was provided after the services by the ladies of the Sauk Valley church.
