Christine Hart

Christine Hart, age 100 years, of Osakis died early Friday morning, April 24, 2009 at the Community Memorial Home in Osakis, MN.
Christine Pauline Levang was born on February 12, 1909 in Grygla, Minnesota, one of nine children born to Peter and Carrie (Brevik) Levang. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith at Valley Church. Her first jobs were doing housekeeping for area residents. At the age of nineteen, Christine married Tom Hoyum in Madison, MN. After Tom's tragic death in a train accident in 1937, Christine moved north again to the Moorhead area where she met and married Leo Hart. They were wed on August 28, 1943 in Moorhead, MN. Christine worked at a laundry business and raised a family. The Hart's moved to rural Osakis in 1951. Leo passed away in 1963 and Christine continued to live in the country until moving into a home in Osakis in 1974. She remained healthy and able to live in her home into her late '90's.
Christine was a member of the Osakis Lutheran Church and belonged to the Sarah Circle. She loved nature and being outdoors. She liked to get out on the lake and went both summer and ice fishing. She enjoyed people and going to dances and playing cards. Traveling and working on sewing projects also kept her busy. She was a kind and loving mother, grandma, aunt and sister who will be dearly remembered by her family and friends.
Surviving her is her daughter, Betty Ossino of Omaha, NE; son, Roger Hart of Utah; 22 grandchildren, with special granddaughter, Dee Ann Wells and her son, Nicholas in attendance; many great grandchildren; three sisters, Mabel Sundberg of Thief River Falls, Pearl Danielson of Bellingham, WA and Violet Reynolds of Brooklyn Park, MN; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a daughter, Audrey Thompson; stepdaughters, Cuba Cook & Donna Hart; stepsons, Dale and Don Hart; 2 grandchildren, Scott and Kevin Hart; 3 brothers, Ingvald, Palmer and an infant brother, Ingvald; two sisters, Clara Jacobsen and Ida Sund.
Funeral services will be held for Christine on Tuesday, April 28 at 11:00 am at the Osakis Lutheran Church with Rev. Ron Calvert officiating. Musicians are Pat Converse, Darlene Hendricks and Dana Hetland. Honorary pallbearers are Barb Sjerven and family. Interment is at the Riverside Cemetery in Fargo, North Dakota.
