Life History for Connie Kingston

Connie Kingston, age 73 of Long Prairie entered into the peace of Heaven from her home on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 in Reynolds Township, Todd County, MN.

Constance Clara Kienberger was born on October 19, 1938 in Long Prairie, MN to Rufus and Alvira (Lohrke) Kienberger. Connie was made a child of God through her baptism on April 16, 1939 and reaffirmed her faith by Confirmation on June 8, 1952. She attended country school in early grades, then completed her education in the Long Prairie School system. After attending Minneapolis Business College she moved back to Long Prairie where she married Ronald Kingston on September 1, 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church. They have lived on the family farm for 52 years.

Connie enjoyed singing in the church choir, working in her garden & flowerbeds and spending time cross-stitching and quilting. She cooked many wonderful meals, always trying a new recipe. Connie looked forward to the fall which meant going to Arizona for the winter months to enjoy potlucks, playing dominos and cards with friends and neighbors, working with her roses and fruit trees, but her greatest love was her God and family. She spent many hours caring for her grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

Connie is survived by her husband Ronald Kingston, a daughter, Cindy (Doug) Bundy, a son, David (JoAnn) Kingston, all of Long Prairie; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 28 at 11:00 am at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Long Prairie with Rev. Nathan Higgins officiating. Musicians were organist Sandy Triebenbach and singers are Mark & Linda Weber. Interment is at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Long Prairie with pallbearers Ross Bundy, Jason Biel, Clayton Lunser, Mitch, Jeff and Jake Kingston.
