Cindy Ringling, age 58 of St. Joseph, formerly of Alexandria passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN.
On January 24, 1962 a beautiful baby girl was born to Donald and June (West) Ringling in Minneapolis, MN. They named her Cynthia Raye. Due to her father’s work, her family moved several times during her youth, so Cindy learned early on how to make friends wherever she was. She graduated from Thief River High School in 1980. She then moved to Minneapolis and worked there for several years before relocating to the Alexandria area, where she worked in food service at the Holiday Inn and Old Broadway restaurants. Cindy operated her own business in Elrosa, MN for a time and also worked at the Sidewalks bar in West Union. Cindy found her true calling however, when she was hired by Neil Marty to work at his Alexandria business called Firefighter Detect Alarm. In 2012, his business was sold to Summit Fire Protection and Cindy moved with the company and worked out of their Waite Park offices. She loved her job and co-workers and treated them all like extended family.
Cindy learned to fish from her folks and loved time out on the lake each summer. She was a loving daughter who selflessly cared for her elderly parents. In her down time, she relaxed by working in her flower beds or tending the special fish ponds she filled with coy. Cindy loved life and spending time with her dear friends. Her light will shine on in their hearts and the many others who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her adopted family, Kay and Duane Boogaard of Osakis; Missy Hansen and family of Olivia and Mark Hansen and family of Lakeside, CA; her uncle, Albert Ringling of Texas and many friends and co-workers. She is preceded in death by her parents, Don and June Ringling.
Cindy will be interred next to her parents at a graveside service the West Evergreen Cemetery in Osakis, MN on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020 at 1:00 pm, with an additional celebration of her life to take place at a later time when friends can gather and share stories and happy memories. Condolences and memories may be left on her Tribute page at www.royhetland.com.
