Dale Merle Judes

Dale Merle Judes, the son of Merle and Myrtle (Olson) Judes, was born on February 21, 1947, in Sauk Centre, MN.  Dale graduated from Sauk Centre High School in the class of 1965 and then enlisted into the United States Navy.  Dale served 4 years, during the Vietnam war aboard the USS America Aircraft Carrier.  After the Navy, Dale married Gladys Claude on September 6, 1969. 

Dale farmed in the Browerville area in the 1980’s, before Dale and Gladys joined the Peace Corp.   They were assigned to Belize, where Dale was the Agricultural Extension Agent for Belize during his 2-year assignment.  When returning to the US, Dale and Gladys returned to farming in the Belgrade area.  After retiring in Eagle Bend, Dale and Gladys enjoyed traveling and Dale worked at Menards, and volunteered his time with Meals on Wheels in Eagle Bend. 

Dale is survived by his mother, Myrtle Judes, of Sauk Centre; brothers, Kenneth (Bonnie) Judes of Gillette, WY, Daniel (Darla) Judes of Sheridan, WY, and Carl (Sandy) Judes of Melrose; sister Carol (Larry) Stuckey of Lancaster, WI; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Judes, father, Merle Judes, and a brother, Jeffrey Judes.

A Celebration of Dale’s life will be held later this summer.
