FUNERAL NOTICE for DANA HOOKER
Dana Hooker, age 58 of Alexandria, MN died unexpectedly Oct. 7, 2016 at his home in Alexandria, MN.
Dana Joseph Hooker was born on the last day of May in 1958 in Bertha, MN. He was the only boy born to Ernest and Barbara (Brockman) Hooker, in addition to their three daughters. They moved to live near Lake Osakis and Dana attended Osakis High School. Dana was always very interested in tractors. He would talk about them all of the time, and so it was no surprise that his favorite place to be was at his grandparent's farm near Osakis, where he lived and cared for the grandmother he adored for a number of years. He also like to be on his computer and spent many hours looking and learning about a variety of subjects. He also enjoyed SKYPing with his family and friends. Despite the challenges that life presented him, Dana still kept a positive outlook. He was a caring son and brother who will be sadly missed by his family and those who knew him.
He is survived by his parents, Ernest and Barbara Hooker of Vellejo, CA; sisters, Dawn (Daniel Whitney) Bonner of Fairfield, CA and Vicky (Jodi Johnson) Young of Rio Linda, CA; aunts, Beverly (Jim) Sellman of Milaca, MN, Joyce Riley of Kansas City, KS, Joan (Roger) Rhodes of Inver Grove Heights, MN; an uncle, Vern Brockman of Sparks, MN; many cousins in MN, Oregon, CA and Florida.
Preceding him in death are his grandparents, David & Christine Brockman, Les & Viva Hooker; his sister, Laurie.
A Celebration of Life will be held for him on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Chapel in Osakis with Rev. Steve Hilde officiating. His favorite hymns, Old Rugged Cross and How Great Thou Art will be sung.
Arrangements by the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis, MN.
