Life History for Darell Fluegge
Darell Fluegge, age 68 of Brainerd, formerly of the Osakis area passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 at the Lakewood Health System in Staples.
Darell Michael Fluegge was born on June 16, 1942 in New Ulm, MN to Arnold and Virginia (Ross) Fluegge. As a young teen, Darell moved with his family to Leslie Township near the Long Prairie river to farm. In 1970, he found work with the Burlington Northern Railroad. After ten years he then began well drilling, working out of the Staples-Motley area. He was married to Zelda Jo Gregerson on Dec. 21, 1981. He retired in 2006 and last year had moved to live in Brainerd.
Darell enjoyed many outdoor activities, but his favorites were hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Water Well Association.
He is survived by his wife, Zelda Jo Fluegge of Brainerd; children, Joann Fluegge & Jonathan Schall , Jeremiah Fluegge & Melanie Lowe, all of Moorhead, MN, William Fluegge of Staples, Cristina Fluegge of Brainerd; 5 grandchildren, AJ, Lilly, Aeirianna, Jeremiah, Bryella; mother, Virginia Fluegge of Willmar; brothers, Ronald & Mavis Fluegge of Isanti and Don & Faye Fluegge of Willmar; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Arnold Fluegge.
Funeral services were held on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis. Soloist, Melanie Lowe performed Missing You and Power of Good Bye. Interment was at the Pleasant Mound Cemetery in rural Carlos, MN.
