Darrel Ness

Darrel Ness, age 65 of Osakis died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 12 at his home near Lake Osakis.
Darrel was born on August 24, 1948 in Minneapolis, MN to Lyle and Nellie (Pike) Ness. He was a graduate of Southwest High School and served his country in Navy Reserves for six years. He married Carol Reynold's on June 12, 1970 in Minneapolis. During his working years Darrel was employed with several companies, such as Nordicware, Douglas Corp., Ralph;s Shoe Repair and Foursomes Shoe Repair and Central Lakes Restaurant Supply. He was a member of the Richfield V.F.W. Post.
Besides his talents in doing leather work, Darrel also enjoyed doing wood carving, drawing and painting. He liked to work out in his yard putzing and landscaping. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being by the lake.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ness of Osakis; a daughter, Lila (Tom) Prashad of Inver Grove Heights, Lori (Chris) Bowser of Hubert, NC; 4 grandchildren, Alycia and Derek Prashad, Brandon Schull and Cody Browser; one brother, Roger K. Ness of Crystal, MN.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Lyle and Nellie Ness.
