Daryl Danzl

Daryl Danzl, age 84 of Osakis, formerly of Denver and Longmont, Colorado passed into her new life on Thursday, April 9, 2015 from the Galeon Community Memorial Home in Osakis, MN.
Daryl Haff Markwitz was born on Nov. 28, 1930 in Denver, CO to William and Lenore (Haff) Markwitz. She was raised in Colorado and California. She attended college in Fort Collins, Colorado and then married Allen Duane Leonard and they had three children, two sons and a daughter. Daryl took a great interest in antiques and worked as an antiques dealer in addition to a job as a medical receptionist. She found great satisfaction in researching old pieces and learning their history and value. She also began collecting various types of Folk Art and always had a keen eye for finding just the right piece to add to her collections. She was known for saying that she eked just enough essence out of an item to leave some for someone else. She eked the maximum essence out of her life and left those behind with her wisdom and strength. In 1979 Daryl married James Danzl in Longmont, CO and when the time came to retire, they moved to Osakis, Minnesota where they enjoyed fishing and traveling. Daryl was a kind and caring wife, mother and sister who will be dearly missed.
Left to mourn her passing is her husband, James Danzl of Osakis; a son, David (Pat) Leonard of Denver and a daughter, Robin (Dennis) Korn of Morrison, CO; four stepchildren, Janet Lee of Denver, James J. (Kathy) Danzl of Longmont, CO, Julie (Al) Stoupa of Berthoud, CO and JoAnn Thomas of Longmont, CO; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, Daniel (Jo) Markwyn of California; a sister-n-law Pat Kruger; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert Mark Leonard; a sister, Marti Mawhinney; a daughter-in-law, Pat Leonard and a half-brother, Joe Markwitz.
Graveside services are Friday, May 15, 2015 at 3:00 pm at the Gordon Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Todd County, MN.
