David Franklin McLain, known affectionately as "Duff," sadly passed away at St. Cloud Hospital on February 19, 2024. His journey began on May 16, 1938, in Eagle Bend, MN. Duff led a remarkable life defined by dedication and service to his country and family.

His career was marked by a deep sense of duty and honor. Duff proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years on active duty, followed by another 10 years in the reserves. After his military service, he transitioned into a new chapter as a truck driver, embracing the freedom of the open road.

Described as straight-forward and someone who marched to the beat of his own drum, Duff was known for doing things his way. Duff found joy in visiting loved ones and embarking on long drives that allowed him to unwind. In his leisure time, he could often be found relaxing with a glass of brandy at the local watering hole or tuning into FOX News, Football, or Nascar Racing.

A Celebration of Life in honor of David McLain, affectionately known as "Duff," will be held on March 9th, 2024, at Osakis VFW Post #7902 in Osakis, MN. The event will begin at 1:00 PM and conclude at 5:00 PM.
