David Thieschafer, age 68 of Osakis, formerly of Swanville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019 at his home in rural Osakis, MN.
David Gerard was born in Little Falls on October 3, 1951 to Roman and Iris (Mootz) Thieschafer. He was one of twelve children born into this family. David attended Swanville Public Schools and graduated from Staples Vocational School. He did turkey farming for several years and began his trucking career at Hasselbring Auto Transport of Clearwater. David loved trucking and continued his career at Sandberg, Kohorst and most recently, Hensley Inc. On December 24,1992, David married Silvia Biesanz and together they operated T & T Trucking up until the time of his death.
David enjoyed spending time with his family, taking trips to Wendover, NV, mowing lawn and working in the yard with his dog Monroe. Often you could find Dave sitting in his lawn chair in the company of friends enjoying a cold beer. He loved living out in the country where he could admire the deer and birds. He was a member of the Wild Turkey Federation.
David will live on in the hearts of his family, especially his wife, Silvia of Osakis; seven children, Carrie (Larry) Marquette of Rapid City, SD, Kellie (Loren) Bitz of Grey Eagle, Butch Thieschafer of Eagle Bend, Levi Thieschafer of Ashby, Christina Biesanz of Winona, Bill (Rahdika) Biesanz of Madison, AL and Andy (Lindsay) Biesanz of Mpls, MN; fifteen grandchildren, Natasha, Brendon, Cassandra, Avri, Savana, Hudson, Annabelle, Dyllon, Chase, Abbigale, Michael, Cameron, Connor, Saara, Aanya; 6 great grandchildren; 10 siblings, Leroy Thieschafer of Little Falls, Karen (Jim) Allen of Swanville, Sue (Steve) Ecker of Long Prairie, Greg (Julie) Thieschafer of Bagley, Steve (Jeanne) Thieschafer, Brenda (Bruce) Peterson, Dan (Lori) Thieschafer, Debbie Walburn, all of Swanville, Heidi (Bruce Haugo) LeDoux of Rockford and Missy (Tim) Hirsch of Little Falls; mother-in-law, Tina Guetg of San Juan, Puerto Rico; brother-in-law, Eduardo Ramirez (Belinda Jimenez) of Humacao, Puerto Rico and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Roman and Iris Thieschafer, a brother, Jeff Thieschafer, a grandson, Jeffrey John Thieschafer, nephews, Kenny Thieschafer and Isaac Thieschafer and father-in-law, Emilio Ramirez-Kohl.
Private services have been held. Arrangements handled by the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home, Osakis, MN.
