Duane Weberg

Duane Weberg, age 74 of Osakis, formerly of Prior Lake, MN, passed away late Monday, August 8, 2016 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN where he had been a patient for sixteen days following a car accident.
On July 1, 1942 a son was born to Victor and Cora (Hanson) Weberg in Mentor, MN. They named him Duane Victor and he was a graduate of Mentor High School with the Class of 1960. Duane worked in Minneapolis, MN until his enlistment in 1964 with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge in 1966, Duane began work at the Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance Company. In 1969 he was hired by Northwest Airlines and worked in their Pension and Payroll department until his retirement in 1998. On April 11, 1987, Duane married Mary Ann Phelps in Prior Lake, MN. After his retirement Duane and Mary Ann began to spend some winter months each year in Mesa, AZ and in 2000 they moved to a home on Lake Osakis.
Some of Duane's interests included hunting and fishing, playing horseshoes, tennis and billiards. He was an active and loving husband, stepfather, grandpa and brother who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Weberg of Osakis; 2 stepdaughters, Robynn (Chris) Ogawa of Grand Forks, ND and Sherry (Jerry) Tupa of Champlin, MN; grandchildren, Emily Tupa, Alex Tupa and Danika Ogawa; a brother, Richard (Ardene) Weberg of Coon Rapids, MN and a sister, Lynnette (Tom) Oswald of Roseville, MN; many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents, stepson, Daniel Phelps, sister, Evelyn Benoit and brother, Kenneth Weberg.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life reception for Duane on Saturday, August 20 from 1 - 6 pm at 22009 Gable Drive, Osakis, MN. Arrangements by the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis, MN.
