LIFE HISTORY FOR EARL 'OLE' LENNES
Earl 'Ole' Lennes, age 49 of Osakis died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, MN.
Earl Austin Lennes was one of twin sons born to Jerry and Wilma (Byland) Lennes. His brother, Jon died as an infant, and Earl grew up as the youngest of the Lennes children. He graduated from Osakis High School. On December 12, 1982 Ole married Terri Boys in Osakis. He first worked as a salesman for Arvid Byers in Morris, MN and then Honda Motors and the Car Connection, both of Willmar. His next job required a shift in work duties, but still related to automobiles. He worked as a claims adjuster for Excel Claims Service based out of South St. Paul. Ole realized that he missed sales and returned to work in Alexandria as a salesman for Triple P Auto sales. He worked for a time at KEYL Radio in Long Prairie, MN as a sales rep before returning to Alexandria and working for Auto Maxx.
Ole had many interests and hobbies. He especially enjoyed the NFL and liked to play fantasy football. He liked to collect Harley-Davidson memorabilia, steins and Norske/Viking items. Ole also liked to work on computers, get outdoors fishing and was a fan of heavy metal music. Card playing, especially cribbage, was one of the ways Ole stayed close to his friends and family. He was a good friend and always made a point to keep up with the many friendships he had developed over the years. Ole had a heart as big as gold and proved it even at the end of his life by becoming an organ /tissue donor after his death. Having taken EMS training for the cities of Grand Rapids and Alexandria, Ole knew what a life saving gift organ donations can be.
Ole is survived by his his sons, Richard and Aaron Lennes of Osakis and a daughter, Jenneil Lennes of Atwater, MN; a granddaughter, Joslyn Rose; his longtime companion, Lisa Wagner of Osakis; two sisters, Linda (Gary) Salkowicz of Maplewood, MN and Mona Karkela of Grand Rapids, MN.
