Eldora A. Finnegan

Eldora Arlene (Malo) Finnegan, 87 of Osakis, passed away on January 22, 2024, peacefully at Galeon nursing home. Eldora was born on February 18, 1936, to Lawrance and Viola (Garvin) Malo in Osakis, Minnesota. She was the eldest of two daughters born into the family that would eventually relocate to Evansville Minnesota, where Eldora would graduate from Evansville High School in 1954. Eldora was a kind and caring person, and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Eldora met the love of her life Robert Finnegan and they Married November 26, 1955. They moved to St. Paul, Minnesota where they started their family of 6 children, Diane, Michael, Judy, they moved back to Osakis, MN to the Finnegan farmstead where Mary, Patrick & Sharon were born. 

Eldora was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis where she read & was active in Christian Mothers, Member of the Red Hats. She worked at Coast to Coast in Osakis, Fleet Farm & Cowing Robards in Alexandira among other places up until retiring. She enjoyed many hobbies’ traveling, avid bowling, watching the birds, morning coffee with friends, and doing word search.

Eldora is survived by her husband of 68 years Robert Finnegan, daughters Diane Barklind (special friend Michael Bennett) Paynesville, MN, Mary (Jerry) Schneider, Gwinner ND, Sharon (Jason) Rowe, Tomball, TX sons Michael (Trish) Finnegan Alexandria MN, Patrick (Lisa) Finnegan Clear Lake MN, 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. Eldora is preceded in death by her parents Lawrance & Viola Malo, sister Delores Gunderson, daughter Judy Soldat, granddaughter’s Jeannie Steidl & Karla Finnegan, grandson Nathan Schneider, in-laws Thomas & Mable Finnegan, brother-in-law Frank Finnegan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held May 17^th the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
