Life History for Emilie Gamradt
Emilie Gamradt, age 93 of Sauk Centre, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 13, 2013 at St. Michael's Hospital in Sauk Centre, MN.

On May 6, 1920 in Todd County, MN a beautiful baby girl was born to Lovern and Lydia (Eigenbrodt) Bosshardt. She grew up and attended school in Sauk Centre, graduating with the class of 1938. Emilie worked as a second cook at the Waldorf and Belmont CafAC. in Sauk Centre after graduating. She was united in marriage to Delbert Gamradt on June 19, 1943 at the Sauk Centre Methodist Church. Emilie and Delbert enjoyed over 60 years together on their family farm. Emilie worked hand in hand with Delbert, especially with cutting wood for their home. When not busy caring for their four children, she was raising chickens - at one point having over 300 laying hens. Besides her talents for sewing, gardening, and canning, Emilie also enjoyed decorating cakes, photography, crossword puzzles, and traveling.

She is survived by her children: Cheryl Blasing of Motley, Larry (Jeanne) Gamradt of Wells, and Richard (Sandy) Gamradt of Brookings, SD; son in law, Steve Wood of Charles City, IA; 6 grandchildren: Michael Pohlmann, Lori (Dennis) Ostercamp, Kevin (Maureen) Gamradt, Karen (Brad) Gruhot, Kimberly (Cook) Glover, and Karla Snider; 12 great grandchildren: Shayna Ostercamp; Sarai, Hannah, Naomi and Abigail Gamradt; Jonathan and Alayna Gruhot; Jim, Del and Claire Glover; Cade and Nolan Snider; 2 step grandchildren: Sarah and Matthew Trigg; a brother, Harold Bosshardt of Sauk Centre; a sister-in-law, Goldie Miland of Sauk Centre; dear friends, Bea and Glen Lorenzen of Riverside, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are: her parents; her husband, Delbert; a daughter, Barbara Wood; and a son-in-law, Victor Blasing.

Funeral services are Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Faith Baptist Church in Sauk Centre with Rev. Ron Hemsworth officiating. A gathering time will begin at the church at 1:00 pm. Inurnment is at the Greenwood Cemetery in Sauk Centre, MN.

Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society.
