Glenda Michaelson

Glenda Dale (Niles) Michaelson was born on July 7, 1936, to Paul and Leona (Hayton) Niles in Sandwich, Illinois.  She graduated from Plano High School in 1954.

On November 5, 1955, Glenda was united in marriage to Stanley Michaelson in Plano, Illinois.  The couple made their home in Plano and were blessed with 3 sons, Wayne, Owen and Aaron.  The family moved to Osakis, Minnesota and bought the Lakeland Motel from 1973 until 1992.  In 2006, Glenda and Stanley moved to Long Prairie.

Glenda enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, babysitting, flower gardening, raspberries and asparagus.

Glenda died on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at Alomere Health at the age of 85.  She is survived by sons, Wayne Michaelson of Carlos and Owen (Carol) Michaelson of Osakis; grandchildren, Craig, Crystal, Curtis, Morgan (Justin Barnette), Joshua, Mariah (Bruce Wachowski), and Caitlyn (Cody Duguay); great-grandchildren, Leigha, Ian, Kinsley, Breden, and Wesley; siblings, Ruth Jump of Shabona, IL, Tom (Jewel) Niles of Plano, IL, Martha (Bill) Nixon of Gilson, IL, George (Pam) Niles of Harty, AR, and Ken (Laura) Niles of Plainfield, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the Lillian Building in Osakis.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Gordon Township.
