Grayce Hughes

Grayce Almeda Hughes, age 102, left this world for her heavenly home on May 29, 2022.

Grayce was born on December 10, 1919, at Leal, North Dakota to George and Minnie (Parsons) Dailey.  She was welcomed by 5 older brothers.

On November 1, 1939, Grayce married the love of her life, Loren Hughes, at Leslie Community Church.  After their marriage the couple moved onto the Hughes family farm where she lived for 82 years raised her four children: Gary, Harry Dean, Rodney, & Marilynn who she loved dearly.  She also enjoyed socializing, entertaining, gardening, dancing, baking, sewing and crafting.

She belonged to many organizations where she was very active and a president for 50 years of her ladies aide.  Grayce was a wonderful hostess.  The coffee was always on which also included sweet homemade treats and opened arms for a hug.

She is survived by her children: Harry Dean (Juanita), Rodney (Sue), Marilynn (Rudy), daughter-in-law, Betty; grandchildren: Terri (Mike) Grinager, Jim (Brenda) Hughes, Kelly Hughes, Justin Hughes, Julie (Scott) Tvrdik, Kris (Scott) Wagner, Greg (Jenny) Faber, Daylon (Kristen) Faber, Brian (Julie) Hughes, Jeff Glatty, Pam (Howie) Odor, Leslie (Walter) Smith, Kali (Joel) Laur; 22 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren; godson, Jeffrey Canakes.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Loren; son, Gary; son-in-law, Ray Faber; parents and siblings.
