Jeannine Olson, age 73 of Osakis passed into her new life on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Galeon in Osakis, MN.
On October 13, 1944 a daughter was born to William ‘Bud’ and Charlotte (Studt) Lanoux in St. Paul, MN. She attended beauty school as a first occupation and worked in South St. Paul for several years and raised her family. She married Jim ‘Ole’ Olson on May 15, 1970 in Brookings, S Dakota and later made a home in Alexandria, MN. Jeannine purchased the Forada Liquor Store in 1984 and ran this business until retirement in 2000. The Olsons’ then moved to a home near Lake Osakis and enjoyed their time by travelling in their RV and spending happy summers at Little Winnie Resort on Lake Winnibigoshish. They loved camping and fishing and traveled everywhere with their little Pomeranian named Roxy.
Jeannine was a proud grandma who enjoyed spoiling her grandkids. She loved to go shopping and suntanning and in her younger days she use to drag race and still liked to ride motorcycle. She was a generous and caring wife, mother, grandma and sister who will be dearly missed by her family, neighbors and friends.
She will live on in the hearts of her husband, James ‘Ole’ Olson of Osakis; children, Larry McArdell of New Brighton, Warren McArdell of Long Prairie and Stacy (Shane) Pederson of Osakis; 8 grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher & Nathan Pederson, Brittney, Nicholas & James McArdell, Marissa Anderson, Lauren Oseien; 2 great grandchildren, Avah Pederson and Jon McArdell; her siblings, William ‘Bill’ Lanoux of Mesa, AZ and sister, Sally St. Marie of Hastings, MN; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents and a sister, Judy Lapadat.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis with Rev. Randy Knuth as celebrant. A gathering time will begin at 1 pm at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis, MN. www.royhetland.com
