Joanne Marie Fearing

Joanne Marie Navratil Fearing, age 87, passed away peacefully on April 6th, 2024, at St. Cloud Hospital. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Joanne was born on April 25th, 1936, in Alexandria, Minnesota, to Louis and Barbara Navratil. She was the oldest of eight siblings.

 After graduating from Alexandria High School, Joanne worked for the Douglas County Auditor. She met the love of her life, Wayne, on December 25th, 1956. They were married on April 7th, 1958, and raised four children in Osakis, Minnesota.

Joanne enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom. She was the Osakis Township Clerk for 28 years. She enjoyed being a realtor.  She was a bookkeeper for Backus Enterprises and Hensley Trucking. Her and Wayne enjoyed their retirement and spent many winters in Florida. She was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Marlene, her brother Jimmy, her brother Harvey and her sister Ruth. 

She is survived by her husband Wayne of 66 years, daughter Barb Boogaard (Ken), son Jeff (Michelle), daughter Lisa Peterson (Jeff), daughter Sheila Schultz (Roger); grandchildren Jamie Edenloff (Marica), Heidi Dickinson (Darin), Shane Edenloff (Shonelle), Nichole Johnston, Brett Handy, Emily Peterson; great grandchildren Austin, Avery, Lilly, Jacob, Breydon, Micah, Kobe, Eden; brother Thomas Navratil, sister Carol Leaunart, brother Norman Navratil.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis with a Prayer Service at 4:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday, April 11, 2024 2:00 - 3:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis with a Mass of Christian Burial at 3:00 PM. Joanne will be laid to rest following the Mass at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Osakis.
