Judy Gettel

Judy Gettel, age 63 of Sauk Centre, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the University of MN Health Center in Minneapolis, MN.

Judy Rose Gettel was born on August 5, 1955 in rural Todd County, MN to parents, Virgil and Delores (Roering) Gettel.  She was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Alexandria.  After working at various businesses in the Sauk Centre area, Judy was hired by the RR Donnelly Corp. in Long Prairie, MN.  She worked in the bindery department and retired in 2017.  She was a member of the Graphics Communications International Union, Local #B1.

Judy was an avid reader and loved to take drives around and see the countryside.  She was a caring, hard-working, loving daughter, sister and aunt who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her mother, Delores Gettel of Osakis; siblings, Arlene Blanchard of Big Lake, Janet (Larry) Rosch of Long Prairie, Lavern Gettel and Larry (Tammy) Gettel, all of Osakis; many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death is her father, Virgil Gettel, her soul mate, Philip Dougherty and a nephew, Jeremy Gettel.

Funeral services for Judy will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church in Osakis with Fr. David Petron as officiant.  Visitation begins at the church at 9:30 am.  Interment is at the Calvary Cemetery in Osakis with honorary pallbearers, Darlene Hellermann, Mary Ann Becker, Margaret & LaVonne Hommerding.  Active pallbearers are her nieces and nephews, Paul and Brian Vacek, Jocelyn and Evan Gettel, Lori and Jeff Rosch.  Arrangements by Roy-Hetland Funeral Home, Osakis, MN. www.royhetland.com
