Justin Meyer

Justin Leo Edward Meyer, 47, of Osakis, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at home after a battle with cancer on Sept. 25.  Justin was born in Paynesville, MN on December 31, 1973 to Lyle and Diane (Kirkpatrick) Meyer. When Justin was young, he was a champion golden glove boxer and raced cars with the help of his dad and his brother. Justin graduated from Eden Valley High School in 1992.  Shortly after high school Justin attended Willmar Community College for Liberal Arts.

Justin changed jobs a couple times but eventually started working at HTI in Hutchinson, which is where Justin met Susie Blume.  Before Justin and Susie got married and had kids, they wanted to see if they could work well together because they had very different personalities, so they received a farm truck full of animals from Justin’s uncle, David Kirkpatrick. Justin had never grown up in the country so he couldn’t wait to find out all the ins and outs of dogs, cats, pot belly pigs, goats, ducks, geese, and chickens. Justin thought he was crazy because he never in his life thought that he would look like the “Beverly Hillbillies” driving a vehicle full of animals, but he loved it. He loved watching all the animal personalities. He absolutely loved all his animals unless they attacked his dog Bridget or his kids but attacking Susie he was OK with. LOL!  As Justin would say, “They are almost human.” Justin married Susie On May 31, 2003 in Alexandria. Not long after being married was the couple then blessed with four beautiful children, Chayce, Darianea, McKenna, and Aubrey, which were all Justin’s pride and joy. In February of 2005 Justin “Junior” started working at 3M in Alexandria. 3M is the one place that Justin always said that he had a family away from his immediate family and he was so blessed to have had so many great friends at 3M. Justin’s greatest enjoyments in life were spending time with his wife and kids, and watching all sports GO MINNESOTA VIKINGS! The only thing in life that Justin hated more than the Minnesota Vikings losing were the Green Bay Packers winning.

GO OSAKIS SILVERSTREAKS! GO EDEN VALLEY EAGLES! Well, unless you are playing the OSAKIS SILVERSTREAKS.  Justin was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Justin had a very soft heart and cared so much about others. Justin was proudest of his wife and children and the life that he created with them. They truly were his pride and joy. And they will now be watched over by their angel. He will be by their side every step they take in their life. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and June Kirkpatrick, Leo and Lillian Meyer; uncle, Dave Kirkpatrick; and brother, James Meyer. Justin is survived by his wife, Susie Meyer of Osakis; four children, Chayce, Darianea, McKenna and Aubrey Meyer; parents, Lyle and Diane Meyer; sister, Jolene and husband, Kevin Lieser, of Paynesville; brother, Jeff and wife, Martina Meyer, of Eden Valley; sister, Janelle and husband, Scott Rademacher, of Avon; sister Jennifer Montanez of Eden Valley; many aunts and uncles; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be the Minnesota Vikings so that they can let him down one last time. The family encourages everyone to wear their sports attire, but the family has highly requested for everyone to please not wear Green Bay Packers attire. ������ In lieu of flowers please donate to the Justin Meyer Family Fund, First National Bank of Osakis, PO Box 580, Osakis, MN 56360.

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Alexandria, MN. Reverend Gary Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow in the Gordon Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Osakis with a meal and fellowship at the VFW in Osakis afterwards. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 PM at United Methodist Church. Arrangements are with the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home of Osakis.
