LIFE HISTORY FOR LAURA SOGGE
Laura Sogge age 89 of Osakis passed away Friday afternoon November 11, 2016 at the Community Memorial Home in Osakis, MN where she was a resident.
Laura Anne Churchill was born February 21, 1927 in Redwood County, MN to Henry and Anna (Kronbach) Churchill. She graduated from Lamberton High School with class of 1944. After high school Laura married Mandel Natterstad and together they farmed for many years. Laura also worked at Bakke's grocery store in Storden, as secretary at Bethany Lutheran Church in Storden and waitressing and cooking for area restaurants. Laura was member of Bethany Lutheran Church and a member of the Storden Legion Auxiliary. In 1971 Laura married Glen Sogge. They moved to Nebraska for 15 years until retirement at which time they moved back to Minnesota and settled in Osakis, MN. Laura became an active member of the Osakis Lutheran Church and belong to the Rebecca Circle. Laura joined the Community Memorial Home Auxiliary in Osakis.
Laura was an excellent cook and loved cooking for her friends and family. Some of Laura's favorite past times included working in her garden and then canning it's bounty, quilting, bowling, fishing, playing cards and spending time with her family and grandkids. She was an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed watching the MN Twins.
She is survived by her children Gary(Carole) Natterstad of Andover, MN and Becky VanGilst of Prior Lake, MN; stepchildren, Bonnie Lerohl of Mound, MN and
Dixie(Joel) Cary of St Michael, MN; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a brother Chet (Winifred) Churchill of Revere, MN; many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husbands and eight brothers, Vernon, Maurice, Lawrence, Elmer, Henry, Jr., Richard, Myron and James Churchill.
Funeral services for Laura will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Osakis Lutheran Church in with Rev. Rich Fitzer officiating. A gathering time will begin at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment is at the Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery in Storden, MN.
