Laurie Daniels, 62, of Osakis passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 3, 2018 at the St. Cloud Hospital after a fall in her home.
Laurie Ann Underwood was born on June 19, 1955 in Vassar, Michigan to Robert and Beverly (Churcott) Underwood. She graduated from Millington High School with the Class of 1973 and moved to Minneapolis. Laurie married Richard Pieper and they moved to Excelsior to raise their two sons, Andrew and Christian. Laurie spent her time being an amazing, dedicated mother while also working a variety of part time jobs.
In 1997, Laurie married her best friend, Gregory Daniels and moved to Osakis, Minnesota. She spent time working in Alexandria, Osakis, Long Prairie, and she was presently employed at the Geyermann's Clothing Store in Sauk Centre, MN. Laurie held a gift for fashion, truly loved people, enjoyed shopping and looking her best which made this job a perfect match for her.
Laurie had many interests and talents, but spending time with her family was by far her favorite. She loved being Nana and attending her grandchildren's many activities. She was a great cook who spoiled her family with delicious meals and enjoyed looking up new recipies to try. Laurie loved to travel, garden and simply hang out and enjoy everything life had to offer. She spent time volunteering for various charity fundraisers in the area. She was a loving, kind, positive, amazing and caring wife, mother, sister, friend and Nana who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Laurie will always live on in the hearts of her husband, Greg Daniels of Osakis; her children, Andrew (Heather) Pieper of Eden Prairie, Christian (Lily Ramey) Pieper of Hopkins, stepchildren, Philip (Amanda) Daniels of Osage, Tiffany (Adam) Gall of Brooklyn Park; 7 grandchildren, Madeleine, Marshall, Amelia, Owen, Mason, Carter and Peyton; siblings, Rob (Jodi) Underwood of Umatilla, FL and Wendi Underwood of Grand Island, FL; father and mother-in-law, Treffle & Joanne Daniels of Minnetonka, aunts, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Beverly Underwood, a grandson, Charlie Daniels, her grandpa Cyrus Gawne and her Nana, Mildred Gawne.
As her final act, Laurie gave the most precious gift of life to others as an organ/tissue donor.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 8th at 11:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church in Osakis with visitation Thursday, June 7th from 5:00-9:00 P.M. at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home, Osakis and one hour before the service at the church on Friday morning.
