Lavonne Jensen

Lavonne Jensen, age 72 of Alexandria passed away late Saturday evening, April 2 at her home in Alexandria, MN.
Lavonne Carmen Grove was born in Hoffman, MN on November 19, 1938 to Orien and Thelma (Lund) Grove. She went to Pocket Lake grade school and then graduated from Alexandria Central High School. In the early 1960's, Lavonne married Exadie Jensen. She was confirmed and married at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Holmes City, MN.
Lavonne had many hobbies. She loved to go to garage sales and listen to swap shop. She collected porcelain dolls and was a country music fan. She loved to read, enjoyed the holidays and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was also a very active woman who loved to ride her bicycle everywhere. She was especially fond of her pets, Buddy, Mr. Jingles and Boots.
She is survived by her children; Jolene (James) Plaster and Kay (Jay) Stricker, all of Alexandria, Allen Jensen of Kensington and Steven Jensen of Alexandria; 3 grandchildren; Jessica (Michael) Skogberg of Alexandria, Christy Sticker of Alexandria, Terry Stricker of Alexandria. 2 great grandchildren; Cameron and Dakotah Skogberg of Alexandria. brothers, Arden (Sharon) Grove of Mt. Clemens, MI, Truman (Claudine) Grove of Alexandria; sisters, Marlene Sayre of Evansville, Gladys Rajdl of Alexandria, JoAnn (Edward) Grussing of Garfield, Ranae Cornelius Alexandria; brother-in-law, Kim Jorgensen of Alexandria; former husband, Exadie Jensen of Kensington, MN; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Sharon Jorgensen and two brothers-in-law, Richard Sayre and Herbert Radjl; a niece, Melissa Rajdl.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Holmes City with Rev. Denise Croskey officiating. Organist was Jan Myhr. Honorary pallbearers were Jessica Plaster-Skogberg, Christy Stricker, Terry Stricker, Cameron & Dakotah Skogberg.
Arrangements are handled by the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis, MN.
