Linda Traulich

Linda Traulich, age 60 of Osakis died Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, MN.
Linda Lee was born on February 17, 1948 in Osakis, MN. She was a graduate of Osakis High School with the class of 1965. She attended the Model Beauty Academy in St. Cloud, MN. Linda worked in Brooklyn Centre for a time at the Donaldson's Department Store. She married Dennis Traulich, raised two children and ran a beauty shop out of her home. Linda also worked as a sales manager at Maurices, a women's clothing store in Alexandria. As an accomplished entrepreneur, Linda ran several business ventures with her partner, Jerry Vogel. Their first venture was operating a lunch wagon. Their next business was operating a Taco Villa restaurant in Willmar. They also operated the Kandiyohi Ice Co and were the founders of the Kandiyohi Premium Bottled Water business. Jerry and Linda sold both of those companies and then started JAV Corporation / Vogel Waters which operates out of Osakis and St. Joseph, MN. Linda also owned and operated the Fair Winds Salon and Day Spa in Willmar, MN.
Linda was a supporter of the Cancer Foundation and donated wigs to Rice Hospital and gave free haircuts and hair fittings to any cancer patients that needed them. She also volunteered to cut hair for women at a battered-women's shelter.
Besides spending time with her family, Linda enjoyed traveling, dancing, Scrabble and reading. She especially loved being outdoors in the sun and spent her free time going sailing, hiking or taking nature walks.
Linda is survived by her children, Leah (Karl) Traulich-Downs of Sugar Hill, GA and Ryan Traulich of St. Cloud; her life partner, Gerald 'Jerry' Vogel of Osakis and children, Jeff (Brenda) Vogel of Minnetonka, Jessica Vogel and Jay (Amy) Vogel, all of St. Cloud; 4 grandchildren, Kate, Zoe, Jacob and Joshua; brothers and sisters, Kenneth (Diane) Vagts of Falls Church, VA, Lois Goerndt of Land O' Lakes, FL, Betty (Jerry) Ingebrightson of Waubun, MN, Harvey (Ann) Erickson of Deerwood, MN, Norma (William) Rogers of Rocky Ford, CO, Marvin Erickson of Livingston, MT, Eileen (Dean) Trisco of Osakis; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Alice Daily.
Visitation hours are on Tuesday evening from 5 - 8 pm at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis with a prayer service at 7 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at 11:00 am at Park Osagi in Osakis, MN with Rev. Larry Pearson officiating. Some reflections from the Giving Tree book will be given by Kate Vecchi. Pallbearers are Jeff and Jay Vogel, Harvey Erickson, Ron Traulich, Gary Akervik and Karl Downs.
A luncheon will be provided by the Immaculate Conception Catholic church women in the church basement following the services at the park.
