Lorraine Rosella (Sorenson) Buzick

Lorraine Rosella (Sorenson) Buzick, age 95 of St. Cloud, formerly of Osakis, passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 at Salem Lutheran Church in Osakis at 11:00 AM with a public visitation being held one hour prior to services at the church. 

Lorraine Rosella (Sorenson) Buzick was born June 11, 1929 in rural Osakis, Minnesota to Arthur and Clara (Ingvalson) Sorenson. She was one of eleven children and attended school at rural district 63 until the eighth grade. From there, she attended high school at Osakis Public School and graduated with the class of 1947.

Shortly after graduation, Lorraine moved to Minneapolis where she worked for The Terrace Club for one and a half years before moving back to her parent’s home in Osakis. In June of 1949, she moved to Fargo, North Dakota with her sister Claris and her friend Delores Zastrow. 

While in Fargo, Lorraine started working in the office for Holsum Bakery (now Pan-O-Gold Baking Co.) in July of 1949. She became the office manager in 1958, and in July of 1988 she transferred to the Pan-O-Gold office in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Lorraine retired from Pan-O-Gold in 2011 after 62 years of working in the baking industry. 

On December 1, 1973, Lorraine married Richard Buzick of Argusville, North Dakota. Together, they enjoyed sixteen years of marriage until Richard’s passing on December 6, 1989.

In her free time, Lorraine enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, scratch tickets, and casino trips. She also enjoyed attending horse and dog races, and will be fondly remembered by what an excellent caregiver she was, especially to her younger siblings.

Lorraine passed away at her home in St. Cloud on Wednesday, August 21, 2024; she was 95 years old. Left to cherish her memory are her brothers: Duane (Jan) Sorenson, Ronnie (Ginny) Sorenson, Carmen (Cindy) Sorenson, Roger (Phyllis) Sorenson; sister-in-law, Joyce Buntje; as well as many other beloved nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Clara Sorenson; husband, Richard Buzick; brothers: Allan (Dorothy) Sorenson, Kenneth (Arlene) Sorenson, Maurice (Donna) Sorenson, Eugene Sorenson; sisters: Claris Sorenson and Adelene (Gerry) Pynes; Nieces: Sharon Sorenson, Julie Bany, Cristi Rajdl; nephew, Brett Rutten; as well as many other relatives and friends.
