Lyle Rindahl

Lyle Rindahl, age 71 of Carlos passed away on Monday, Aug. 25 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, MN. Funeral services are on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 11:00 am at the Berea Lutheran Brethren Church in Alexandria with interment at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Carlos, MN. Visitation hours are from 4 - 7 pm on Friday evening at the church and one hour before the service on Saturday.
Life History for Lyle -
On April 21, 1943 in Sunburg, MN Oliver and Augusta (Johnson) Rindahl welcomed a new baby boy into their family which they named Lyle John. His family moved to the Alexandria area when he was young and Lyle graduated from Alexandria High School with the Class of 1961. He served his country in the U. S. Army after school. On May 6, 1967 Lyle married his sweetheart, Geri Miller in Alexandria, MN. Lyle enrolled in the Alexandria Technical College Accounting program and received his degree in 1972. He was immediately hired by Juno Plastics, Inc of Alexandria and Lyle continued to work there as an accountant until his retirement in 2006. He then took a job doing both accounting work and bid running for Central Specialties of Alexandria, MN.
Lyle was a member of the Berea Church and served on the church board, having formerly attended the Trinity Lutheran Church in Carlos, MN. Lyle also was on the advisory board for the accounting department at Alexandria Tech.
Living in the country provided Lyle with a chance to enjoy many of his hobbies. He loved to hunt and fish and ride his snowmobile and 4-wheelers. He kept several birdfeeders in the yard and enjoyed all of the wildlife that frequented the area. Since Lyle was great working with computers and also an avid sports fan, he really enjoyed playing fantasy football each season with his friends. He was a wonderful husband, father and brother who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 47 years, Geri Rindahl of Carlos; a son, Jeremiah Rindahl of Brandon; a brother, Arnold Rindahl of Alexandria; several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his son, Kristian Rindahl, an infant brother, Leland and a sister, Arlene Rindahl.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 30 at 11:00 am at the Berea Lutheran Brethren Church in Alexandria with Rev. Steve Walswick officiating. Organist is Val Hanson. Interment is at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Carlos, MN. Active pallbearers are his nephews, Sean, Ben, Ryan, Josh and Jayson Miller, Michael Larsen. Honorary bearers are Jerry & Evie Miller, Darrel & Becky Miller, Mike, Rod and Tommy Miller, Jim & Kathy Moore, Arnold Rindahl and CariJean Troumbly.
Arrangements were handled by the Roy-Hetland Funeral in Osakis, MN.
