Life History for Margie Jung

Margie Jung, age 84 of Osakis, went to meet her Lord on January 16, 2011 from the Community Memorial Home in Osakis, MN where she was a resident.
Margie was born on April 24, 1926 in Osakis, MN to Carl and Emma (Swor) Jung. She attended and graduated from Osakis High School with the class of 1944. She took a job at the Osakis Telephone Company doing office work. She was later hired to work in the business office for the Herberger Department Store. Many Osakis graduates will remember Margie from her 25 years as administrative assistant to 5 different superintendants for the Osakis Public School. Throughout her many working years, Margie also cared for her parents and other family members, especially her brother Elwood. She even found time to do some independent accounting work. She had a sharp mind, was good with figures and was very thorough in her work. Margie was a lifetime member of the Osakis Lutheran Church.
Some of her interests and hobbies included gardening, golfing, treasure hunting at area garage sales and taking long walks. She also liked to ride her bike around town and visit her many friends. After retirement she took up many new interests, including learning play guitar and the use of a personal computer.
Margie was a devoted and caring sister and aunt to her siblings and many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by three brothers, Alvin (Doris) Jung of N. Hollywood, CA, Robert (Millie) Jung of Edina, MN and Marlin (Joan) Jung of Minneapolis, MN; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents, her three brothers, Julius, Elwood and Raymond Jung; two sisters, Alice Castle and Della Hinrichs.
Funeral services for Margie will be held on Saturday, January 22nd at 11:00 am at the Osakis Lutheran Church with Rev. Ron Calvert presiding. Organist is Pat Converse. Lunch will be provided by the church ladies in the fellowship hall following the service. Interment is at West Evergreen Cemetery in Osakis. Honorary casketbearers are Alvin, Robert, Marlin and David Jung. Active bearers are Timothy Jung, Julie Gullickson, Susan Jarrett, John and Guy Hinrichs, Harold Laven.
