Marie Wiener

Marie Wiener, age 94 of Sauk Centre, went to meet her Savior early Sunday, May 22, 2016 from Centra Care Health Sauk Centre Nursing Home three days after celebrating her 94th birthday.
On May 19, 1922 Marie Catherine Moorman was born in Melrose, MN. She was one of six children born to Casper and Mary (Wiewel) Moorman. Marie was a graduate of Melrose High School in 1940. On October 15, 1940 she was united in marriage to Sylvester Wiener at St. Boniface Church in Melrose. They began farming and raising their family of five children. In the late '40's, they moved into Sauk Centre. In the 1960's, Marie worked as a waitress at local cafes and later went to work at the Finger Hut Company. In addition to her busy schedule, Marie also gave her time as the secretary for the Sauk Centre Chamber of Commerce. Although Marie was well into her seventies, she still found the energy to help out as a foster grandmother. She was an active member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and belonged to the Christian Mothers.
In addition to her talents as a cook and baker, Marie also liked to garden and each fall she canned many jars of produce to share with family and friends. She enjoyed playing cards, especially 500 and looked forward to weekly get-togethers with friends for coffee and dessert. She made several trips across the country to visit family and enjoyed traveling. She was a devoted mother and grandma who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Left to mourn her passing are her children, Gerald 'Jerry' Wiener of Spokan, WA, Beatrice 'Bea' (Gary) Ferdelman of Aitkin, MN, Roy (Vi Swanson) Wiener of Brooklyn Park, MN, Karen Rentz of White Bear Lake, MN, Bernadette Wiener of Sauk Centre, MN; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ready to greet her in Heaven is her husband, Sylvester who died in 1974, her parents, a son-in-law, Daniel Rentz; 2 grandchildren, Eric and Shaun Rentz; siblings, Casper Moorman, Jr., Marcella Lancaster, Jerome Moorman, Robert Moorman and John Moorman.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held for Marie on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Sauk Centre with Fr. Jeremy Theis & Deacon Tom McFadden officiating. Musicians are the St. Paul's Resurrection choir with June Rutten as organist. Interment is at St. Paul's Cemetery in Sauk Centre, MN.
A gathering time will begin one hour before the Mass at Our Lady of Angels Church in Sauk Centre, MN.
