LIFE HISTORY FOR MARJORIE TWAIT
Marjorie Twait, age 83 of rural Alexandria, MN died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, June 6, 2008.
Marjorie Jean Naig was born on May 25, 1925 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to Theodore and Elsie (Lawrence) Naig. On July 31, 1945 Marjorie was united in marriage to Donald Twait in Fairville, Iowa. The couple farmed near Fenton, Iowa for 28 years. In 1974 they moved to a farm southeast of Alexandria, where they currently reside.
Marjorie was a member of the Osakis Lutheran Church and belonged to the ladies aid. She had been a member of St. John's Lutheran church in Depew, Iowa before moving to Minnesota.
Some of Marjorie's hobbies included working out in her beautiful garden, where she raised flowers and many vegetables for canning each season. She also enjoyed reading and collecting angel figurines. She was a much loved wife and mother who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Marjorie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald Twait of Alexandria; her children, Wayne Twait of Emmetsburg, IA, Kenneth Twait of Alexandria, MN, Gary Twait of Oceanside, CA, Marjean (Lee) Johnson of Emmetsburg, IA and Craig Twait of Alexandria; 4 grandchildren, Brad Twait, Monica (Scott) Hock, Marilee (Jon) Lace, Melissa Johnson; 4 great grandchildren, Jon Lace, II and Olivia Lace, Erin and Shay Hock; two sisters, Dorothy Hamilton and Joann (Arden) Twaiten, all of Emmetsburg, IA; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, a grandson, Todd Wayne Twait and two brothers, Truman and Donald Naig.
Funeral services for Marjorie were held on Monday, June 9 at 2:00 pm at the Osakis Lutheran church with Rev. Ron Calvert officiating. Musicians were organist, Pat Converse and singers, Darlene Hendricks, Harold & Kathy Withers, Dallas & Wilma Triebenbach. Lunch was provided by the ladies in the fellowship hall following the service. Honorary bearers were Harold Withers, Dallas Triebenbach, Roger Akervik, Allan Ward, Buster Fiedler, Loren Kakac and the Osakis Lutheran Church ladies aid members.
A visitation will also be held at the Joyce Funeral Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa on Wednesday, June 11 from 4 - 7 pm. Inurnment will also be held in Iowa.
