FUNERAL NOTICE FOR MARVIN EDENLOFF
Marvin P. Edenloff, age 88 of Minneapolis, formerly of the Osakis area passed peacefully on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Unity Hospital in Fridley, MN.
Marvin Philip Edenloff was born on August 3, 1927 in Todd County, MN to Fred W. and Olive (Grover) Edenloff. He attended Dist. 17 country school. Marvin worked as a auto mechanic for Deluxe Oil in Osakis. Marvin enlisted in the U. S. Army Reserve during the Korean War in 1951. He was transferred to full enlistment in 1953 and was honorably discharged in 1957. On December 27, 1965 Marvin was united in marriage to Jean Oyster at the First Presbyterian Church in Osakis. He became a father in 1966 to daughter, Karen. Marvin took technical college courses and became a machinist. He moved to Minneapolis and worked for the Graco Company, retiring in 1992. He returned to his hometown often to see family and friends in the Osakis area.
One of Marvin's favorite outdoor activities was hunting and this love for the sport was where he got his nickname of Buck. He was an accomplished marksman, known for his accuracy and even could claim to have shot two deer in one shot. Despite his talents, Buck remained humble and easy-going. He was content visiting with friends over a cup of coffee or over a glass of "Lambrusco". He had a soft spot for his two grandsons, watching their games and celebrating their milestones.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Jean Edenloff of Minneapolis; one daughter, Karen Hagen of Minneapolis; two grandsons, William and Jack Hagen; a brother, David (Sue) Edenloff of Circle Pines, MN; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers, Lester, Charles and Fred Edenloff, Jr; his sisters, Luella Edenloff and Orpha Sibell.
