FUNERAL NOTICE FOR MELISSA (VANGSTAD) AUNE
Melissa Aune, age 44 of St. Cloud, formerly of Osakis died unexpectedly on Tuesday at the St. Cloud Hospital. Funeral services are Saturday, March 12 at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis with interment at West Evergreen Cemetery in Osakis. Visitation hours are from 4 - 8 pm on Friday evening at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home with parish prayers at 7:30 pm. Visitation also one hour before the service at the church.

Melissa Ann Vangstad was born on November 24, 1971 in Alexandria, MN to Robert and Karen (Rende) Vangstad. She went to Osakis Public School and graduated with the class of 1990. She then attended the Model College of Hair Design in St. Cloud, MN and received her cosmotology certification to be a hair stylist. She married William Aune on August 25, 2007 in Sauk Rapids, MN. For over eighteen years Melissa worked as a stylist at the Cost Cutters beauty salon in Sauk Rapids, MN. Melissa courageously faced widowhood when her spouse, William died in May of 2010. In 2011 Melissa met and began a new life with Ryan Vos, to whom she was engaged to be married. Most recently, she had been working as a bookkeeper at his retail flooring business.
Melissa had a love for life and enjoyed the outdoors. She went fishing, boating and camping each summer. In the fall she faithfully cheered on the MN Vikings. She was happy out shopping, taking in a movie or just staying home to give attention to her two dogs and a cat. Melissa had many talents. She had a lovely singing voice and enjoyed listening to her favorite music. She also had a sympathetic heart and an understanding ear while working with her clients. Melissa used her artistic skills both when cutting and styling hair and also to create paintings on canvas. She was a kind and loving daughter, sister and fiance' who will be so dearly missed by her family and friends.
Left to mourn her passing are her parents, Robert and Karen Vangstad of Osakis; her fiance', Ryan Vos of St. Cloud; a brother, Jason Vangstad of Osakis and a sister, Marcy Vangstad of St. Cloud; her grandfather, Orville Vangstad of Osakis and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Aune; a brother, Chad Vangstad; her grandparents, Dorothy and Oscar Rende, grandmother, Lorraine Vangstad and an uncle, Dennis Rende and an aunt, Susan Ruh.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held for Melissa on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osakis with Fr. David Petron officiating. Interment is at the W. Evergreen Cemetery in Osakis with pallbearers Keith Rende, Greg Guetter, Terry Vangstad, Dick Trisco, Justin Vos and Craig Hiltner.
Arrangements were with Roy-Hetland Funeral Home, Osakis, MN.
