Michael Burnell Schauer was born on May 5, 1956, in Arlington, Minnesota to Burnell “Mox” and Ermalinda “Erma” (Schmiesing) Schauer. He graduated from Sauk Centre High School and lived a majority of his adult life in Long Prairie. Michael had a variety of jobs including working at Larson Boats in Little Falls, working at a dry cleaning business in Alexandria, and as a custodian at St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls.
Michael loved fishing and the outdoors as well as cheering for the Minnesota Twins and Vikings. He enjoyed computer strategy games, listening to rock music and talk radio, and watching classic TV comedy. Michael also enjoyed working on cars and “tinkering” on things in the garage.
Michael died of natural causes on Friday, September 2, 2022, at his home at the age of 66. He is survived by his son, Brent (Ally) Schauer of St. Louis Park; daughter, Tiffany (Nicholas) Doyle of Fargo; grandchildren, Margot and Maura Schauer; brothers, Greg and Andy Schauer of Little Sauk; sister, Mary (Paul) Siegle of Albertville; nephews, Matt (Missy) and Jimmy (Katie Seifermann) Siegle. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Burnell and Ermalinda.
A celebration of life service will be held from 1:00-4:00pm on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Diamond Point Steakhouse in Little Sauk, Minnesota.
