NATHAN "NATE" GEORGE, age 56 of Osakis died peacefully at his home May 2, 2015 in rural Todd County, MN. Outdoor memorial services will be held on Sat., May 9 at 3 pm at his home. Please bring a lawn chair. Visitation hours are from 4 - 7 pm on Friday, May 8 at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis, MN. Inurnment is at the Long Bridge Lutheran Church Cemetery, Little Sauk, MN.
LIFE HISTORY FOR NATHAN GEORGE
Nathan was born on January 30, 1959, the youngest son of Robert, Sr. and Inez (Thornquist) George. He graduated from Osakis High School in 1977. Nate had grown up helping in the family electrical business. He worked construction for a number of years and then began working for a road construction company driving gravel truck.
Nate was a member of the Long Bridge Lutheran Church and was on the Little Sauk Township Board for many years, serving as supervisor and election judge.
Besides his love for hunting, trapping and fishing, Nate also liked stock car racing and worked on a pit crew for many years. He was a Vikings and Nascar racing fan. He looked forward to weekly card games with his buddies and was always the one to share the joke of the day. All his life he was interested in the Old West and loved watching Western movies and reading Western novels. He was proud to be a godfather to many. Not only his own nieces and nephews, but other friends children as well. Nathan George, age 56 of Osakis died peacefully at home early Saturday, May 2, 2015.
He is survived by his sister, Loxy (Patrick) Nelson of Blaine, MN; two sisters-in-law, Marie George of Sauk Centre and Mary George of Osakis, MN; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceding him in death are his parents, brothers, Roger, Dwight and Robert, Jr.; a niece, Billie Jo George.
Memorial services will be held outdoors on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 3 pm at Nate's home with Chaplain Jeff Tacker officiating. Musician is Miriam Thornquist. Please bring a lawn chair for the service. Inurnment is at the Long Bridge Lutheran Church Cemetery of Little Sauk, MN. Honorary bearers are Mike Fearing, Al Seitz, John 'Sparky' Friedrichs, Jason and Chris George, Kent 'Schultzy' Schultz, Tom Hock, Vern Walter, Greg Bosl, Bob Volkman, Joey Muenzhuber, Courtney 'Nortney' Nelson, Zach Nelson-Taylor, Stacie Nelson, Stephanie 'Stephy' George, Carrie Lilly, Joe Ecklund and Pat Nelson.
