Randy Randall

September 28, 1934 — July 26, 2021

Osakis, Minnesota

Clarence “Randy” Myron Randall, the son of Theodore and Edna (Fearing) Randall, was born on September 28, 1934, in Osakis, MN.  Randy grew up in Osakis and graduated from high school in 1952.  He then drove a potato truck for DeBoer of Glenwood for a few years before he was united in marriage to June LaValleur on October 15, 1960, in Ashby, MN.  Three sons were born to this marriage, Jon, Stuart, and Chris.  Randy went into business with Wayne Harrison in 1957 and they owned the Philips 66 gas station which included a café, bait shop and repair shop. Randy also owned a wrecker service in Osakis.  On one occasion, he started 52 cars in one day.  In 1995, Randy retired and moved to the north end of Little Lake Osakis, where he became a full-time fishing guide.

To say Randy was an avid fisherman, would be an understatement.  He loved to fish and knew every secret fishing hole in the surrounding area.  Besides fishing, Randy bought hunting land by Laporte, MN and legally shot 108 deer from 1952 until his last deer hunting season in 2017.  In the winter Randy liked to hunt coyotes and fox as well as snowmobiling and racing snowmobiles and bowling.  In the summer he enjoyed softball and golfing.  When Randy wasn’t hunting or fishing, he was volunteering his time with the Osakis Fire Department and ambulance for 25 years where he served as assistant fire chief.  He was also involved with the Osakis Chamber of Commerce.

Randy loved family get-togethers during the holidays so he could spoil and tease his grandchildren.  He always enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, their families, and his friends.  He worked hard throughout his life and was a passionate outdoorsman.  The smile on his face will be remembered by those who knew and loved him.

Randy M. Randall died on Monday, July 26, 2021, at the Fairway Pines Senior Care Center in Sauk Centre, MN at the age of 86 years old.  He is survived by his sons, Jon (Nancy) Randall of Sauk Centre, Stuart (Heidi Bjorklund) Randall of Otsego, and Chris (Teresa) Randall of Watford City, ND; nine grandchildren, Aubree Randall, Jayden Randall, Hailey Clark, Adam Randall, Spencer Randall, Stevan Randall, Keanan Randall, Rebekah Randall, and Gideon Randall; sister, Shirley Resley of Osakis; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Zelda Hermann, Viola Johnson, and Verda Feldt
