Robert Miller

Robert 'Bob' Miller age 91 of Osakis passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday May 11th. Bob was born August 17, 1926 to Lawrence and Rebecca (Reed) Miller in St. Paul, MN. He graduated from the Harding High School and enlisted in the Navy during WWII. He returned from the service and in 1946 married Lavonne Beringer. Bob was a member, bartended and managed the North St. Paul VFW. He married Lois England on May 28, 1965 in St. Paul. Bob worked for many years at 3M retiring in 1986 and was a volunteer for the North St. Paul Fire and Rescue. They had owned a place on Lake Osakis for many years and traveled back and forth on weekends. Lois retired in 1992 so they could finally live permanently on the lake. Bob was also a member of the Osakis VFW. He was a sports enthusiast watching golf, football and baseball. Bob and Lois loved to fish and go pontooning together.
Bob is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lois Miller; children, Sandra (Randy) Harwood of Fort Myers, FL, Vickie (Lenny) Anderson of Lakeland, MN, Victoria (Ron) Makela of Bayfield, WI, Debbie Nordholm of Loris, SC, Karen (Bob) Ogren of LaJolla, CA; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; and a sister Muriel Richardson of Cottage Grove, MN.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Patricia Blaiser, son, Gary Nordholm; great grandson, Devon Paffel; siblings, Lloyd Miller, Shirley Shannon, and Donald Miller.
Funeral services for Robert Miller is Wednesday, May 16th at 11:00 am at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis with Rev. Rich Fitzer officiating. A gathering will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Gordon Pleasant Hill Cemetery rural Osakis with military honors by the Osakis VFW Post 7902. Memorials are preferred to any charity that supports our veterans.
