Stanley Schultz

Stan Schultz, age 71 of Osakis, passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2024, at his home with family surrounding him.

Stan was born on October 30, 1952, in Alexandria, Minnesota to Jack (John) and Erma (Fezler) Schultz. 

He grew up north of Osakis on the family farm and graduated from Osakis High School in 1970. He then went to work in carpentry for Duke Decann, and after Duke retired, Stan started his own carpentry business which he did for 45+ years in the Osakis area.

On April 19, 1975, Stan married Bonnie Manders at the First Presbyterian Church of Osakis.

They proudly raised 3 children in Osakis and ran the Two-Mile Trailer Park.

Stan was a member of the Civil Defense for Douglas County, Osakis Lion's Club, and Osakis Sportsmen's Club. He helped start the Osakis Booster Club, and for 34 years was President and a member of the EMT and First Responders of Osakis which he was very proud of to be a part of.

Stan's passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for hunting and fishing and he was not always patient waiting for the seasons to change. But the thing Stan was most proud of was his kids and grandkids. His love and joy were watching his kids and grandkids play sports and he was so grateful to have all his children and grandchildren living in Osakis.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and so many treasured memories. Stan will be deeply missed by his family but the family is grateful to have had 10 extra years with him after he received a heart transplant from a generous donor in 2014.

Stan is survived by his wife, Bonnie of 49 years, his children Jason (Renee), Craig (Mandy), Ashley (Mike) Shrode all of Osakis, grandchildren, Alayna, Easton, Parker, McKenna Schultz and Liam and Emily Shrode, and his brother Roger (Sheila) of Osakis. Preceding him in death are his parents, Jack and Erma Schultz.
