LIFE HISTORY FOR SUSAN KEESLING
Susan Keesling, age 70 of Osakis, formerly of Osseo, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 23, 2009 in Osakis, MN.
Susan Marie Shoultz was born on May 13, 1938 in Paynesville, MN to Ernest and Alice (Johnson) Shoultz. She moved with her family to Minneapolis when she was a teenager. On September 19, 1966 Susan married Robert Keesling in Minneapolis, MN. Susan worked for over eight years at Allied Industries in Rogers, MN. She was a machine operator for injection molding. In 1992 the Keeslings moved to a home in Osakis. Susan was diagnosed with tracheal cancer in 1993.
Besides being an active mother and grandma, who loved to babysit her grandchildren. Susan also enjoyed bowling, roller-skating, traveling and camping with her family. She loved animals, especially her dogs. She also had a green thumb and raised many different kinds of plants. She kept busy during the winter months crocheting or doing word puzzles.
Susan is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert Keesling of Osakis; her children, Patty (Dave Blang) Couillard of Black River, WI, Dennis (Janie) Javis of Knapp, WI, Penny and Peggy Javis, both of Minneapolis, Emilie (Steven Juhl) Hoium of Fergus Falls and Robert (Wendy Holloway) Keesling, Jr of Osakis; 14 grandchildren; 9 great, grandchildren; brothers and sisters,Bernice Otterson of Aitkin, Linda Keesling of Jordan, Mary Fox of Spring Lake, Alice Shoultz of Jordan, Leroy Shoultz of Bloomington and Billy Shoultz of Fairbault; many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Fred, Charlie and Lewis Shoultz.
Funeral services for Susan were held on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 2:00 pm at the Roy-Hetland Funeral Home chapel in Osakis with Rev. Steve Hilde officiating. Interment was at the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Crystal, MN on Thursday afternoon, January 29, 2009 with a gathering time beginning at 1:30 pm and interment services at 2:30 pm.
