Theresa Pfeffer

Theresa Pfeffer of Osakis went to meet her Savior on June 7, 2019 from the Knute Nelson Care Center in Alexandria at the age of 82 years.

Theresa was the daughter of Leo and Bridget (Maciej) Oldakowski and was born on November 19, 1936 in Little Falls, MN.  She grew up and attended school in Swanville, MN.  On June 17, 1954, Theresa married Conrad Pfeffer and they began farming near Padua, south of Sauk Centre for twelve years before moving to a farm southwest of Osakis.  In addition to raising her children, Theresa helped on the farm and also supplemented their income by running a cleaning service.  For over thirty years, she cleaned area homes and businesses.  In 1988, she moved to Alexandria, MN.

Theresa had a caring and compassionate nature and she showered her family with love and kindness.  She especially liked to take care of and be with her grandchildren, enjoying the chance to spoil them with her homemade goodies.  She was a great cook and canned enough food each fall to feed her family all year.  Theresa had a natural ability to grow things and her ‘green thumb’ ensured a beautiful flower and vegetable garden each summer.  Car trips to see the Christmas lights was always a highlight.  Theresa’s ability to laugh and bring a smile to others endeared her to those fortunate enough to know her. She was a loving mother, grandma and sister who’s memory will be held tightly in the hearts of her family.  She is survived by her children, Dale (Kim) Pfeffer of Osakis, Marlys (Will) Costello of Ventura, CA, Melissa (Tim) Baas of Nelson, MN; six grandchildren - Jamie, Shawn and Brooke Pfeffer, Charity Kuperus, Jordon and Harliann Baas; two great grandchildren - Logan Pfeffer, Mia Kuperus; siblings, Ed (Rose) Oldakowski of Cambridge, Richard (Jean) Oldakowski of Little Falls, John (Marilyn) Oldakowski of Elk River, Joanne Olson of Alexandria and Delores (Joe) Adams of Bertrum, MN; many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, LeRoy Pfeffer, and two brothers, Jerome & Roger Oldakowski.

A Mass of Resurrection will be held for Theresa on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River, MN with Fr. Mark Botzet officiating.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment is at the Calvary Cemetery in Osakis, MN with her six grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
