Thomas Barrett

Thomas Lee Barrett, age 65 of Osakis passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at the Community Memorial Home where he was a resident.
Tom was born on June 19, 1946 in Alexandria, MN to Philip and Mary Jane (Haeckl) Barrett. He grew up in Osakis and attended Osakis Public School. Tom worked at the Osakis Silo Company and did farming until becoming an over-the-road truck driver. He never married and lived for a time in St. Cloud before returning to live at the Community Memorial Home in Osakis. He had many interests, but one of his greatest passions was for art. He loved to draw pictures and appreciated art work of all kinds. He also loved going to the stock car races and watching NASCAR. He was a great story teller and enjoyed spending time with his friends playing a friendly game of pool. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Tom is survived by his brothers, Duane 'Snook' Barrett of Osakis, Dennis (Renee) Barrett of Andover, MN, James 'Amos' Barrett of Osakis and Charles (Bette) Barrett of Osakis; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
