FUNERAL NOTICE FOR ANTOINETTE 'TONI' ASSELN
Toni Asseln age 57 of Melrose, formerly of Osakis, died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul, MN.
Antoinette 'Toni' Marie Asseln was born April 18, 1950 to Clifford 'Kip' and Loretta (Dotty) Peltier in St. Paul, MN. She grew up in St. Paul where she attended and graduated from St. Paul Public Schools. Following her education she worked with the Whirlpool Corp. as a foreman on the powder coat line for over ten years. She was a homemaker, raising her family in St. Paul. In 1983 she moved to Osakis, MN. She was united in marriage to Robert Asseln on November 17, 1990 in Las Vegas. They lived in Osakis until moving to Melrose in 2005. She was an accomplished artist, especially painting china and porcelain dolls. She loved flower gardening, music and spending time with her family.
Toni is survived by her husband, Robert; her mother, Loretta Peltier of Melrose; 3 sons, Michael Rodriquez of St. Paul, David Rodriquez of Eau Claire, WI, Shawn (Tina) Asseln of Osakis; 3 grandchildren, Troy Asseln, Toshia and Dalton Reinke. She is preceded in death by her father, Kip Peltier and brother, Joseph Peltier.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, downtown St. Paul on Tuesday, March 25 at 6 p.m.
